It is difficult to find a more famous German brand on the home appliance market than Bosch. Under this logo, a successful German corporation distributes consumer electronics and appliances - refrigerators, washing and drying machines, boilers, etc. Our review will be devoted to the Bosch geyser.
The manual is based on instructions (manuals), user reviews, expert opinions. You will learn about common equipment failures: having bought the Bosch water heating equipment, you will be fully equipped.
Rulers and their features
Unlike the products of the main competitor of the German corporation - "Electrolux", the range of Bosch Group of Companies is diverse. Various modifications and form factors are available to customers; equipment can be fired according to any of the types of firing that exist today; it has different heat output, capacity (in liters), design and case dimensions.
All models have a Portuguese assembly, except for the inexpensive Therm 2000 O, traditionally assembled in China. Further we consider each series and some models included in it separately.
Therm 2000 O
Inexpensive version with modest performance, issuing 10 liters of hot water in 1 minute. It provides for ignition using batteries, as well as a built-in tubular copper heat exchanger. The gas burner is made of stainless steel. Like "colleagues" under the brand name "Ariston", such GCs are equipped with an emergency sensor for traction and flame control. The design includes a temperature water sensor and a gas control system. GK is made in a compact case, it is relatively cheap - about 8000 rubles.
Therm 4000 O Series
The lineup presents options with the greatest demand. Moreover, there is both with AUTO-ignition from batteries or conventional salt (alkaline) batteries, and with piezo ignition (you need to press a separate button in order to ignite the flame). The series provides equipment with three power levels, passing 10-15 liters in one minute. The series is equipped with high quality heat exchangers made of copper and can effectively cope with heating. The operability of this unit is limited to 15 years.
These models come with smooth modulation of the burner flame. The function is used to maintain the set flow temperature at the outlet.
Important! The main plus of Therm 4000 O - can be turned on even at a pressure (pressure) of water of only 0.1 Atm.
Therm 4000 S
The main distinguishing feature is the presence of a fan, which provides forced draft. Columns from this series do not require the installation of a chimney. This is convenient when installing in an apartment or a house in which laying a chimney will be problematic.
The output of combustion products in these models, as well as the flow of air, is carried out in a coaxial chimney. This element is located on the outside of the wall (horizontal). This is an optional feature, so it is bought separately.
Another technical point: the presence of electronic control in the user panel. It displays error codes and other information about operating modes or unit malfunctions. The control panel also facilitates the user tasks such as setting the temperature and others. Precise modulation of the flame reduces the temperature error to just 1 degree.
It comes in three different power types, with capacities ranging from 12 to 18 liters per minute. In this series, there is another significant difference - the volatility due to the fan in the design. Unfortunately, this is in some ways a minus, because the column will not function without the supply of electricity.
Therm 6000 O
This Bosch water heater range is equipped with a hydro generator. Auto ignition is provided by a duct through the design of the apparatus itself. Opening the faucet, the user starts supplying water to the heater, and thanks to the HYDRO POWER technology, an automatic start is carried out by means of a hydrodynamic generator.
To ignite the unit, you do not need a piezo or batteries. Performance models in the series: 10, 13 and 15 liters.
On the user panel there is a liquid crystal display - it displays information about the temperature, which is adjusted by a rotary knob.
Therm 6000 S vs 8000 S
These series include industrial options with a capacity of 24 and 27 liters per minute. Such units will freely provide with a hot water supply (DHW) several sampling points (4-5) without loss of power. Units are equipped with electric ignition and display from the user panel.
The 6000 S series model is equipped with two fans at once, which remove combustion products and provide air intake. The 8000 S implements special condensing technology for high efficiency heating of the water stream. Also, the water valve in the 8000 S is equipped with an electric actuator.
How is the Bosch gas water heater
For a detailed acquaintance with the design of the Bosch Group of Companies, let us consider the structure of the device using the example from the Therm 4000 O series, model WR equipped with piezo ignition.
The operation of a device equipped with piezo ignition is extremely clear. To start, just set the thermostat to the “ON” position, press the regulator button, while holding the ignition button with the help of a piezo. Hold the temperature control button until the appliance starts up. Using the same switch, select the desired temperature.
If you choose a water heater equipped with automatic ignition, it will be even easier to cope with the control. To do this, open the DHW tap on the mixer, and that's it - the column itself will start working. This is facilitated by pre-installed batteries. All Bosch water heaters are equipped with branded batteries. They need to be changed approximately once a year. The device, the ignitor of which is ignited by piezo ignition, burns all the time, and in automatic units the flame goes out when the device is turned off.

What I like: mechanical control, lack of batteries. The wick will burn while you are at home. No flaws so far did not require maintenance.

In work, this is an excellent technique. Nothing extra. Outwardly made very high quality. But after a year of work began to flow. Holes in the heat exchanger constantly have to be soldered. Tired of it already. Piezo ignition initially did not work, although there is a spark. I have to kindle matches. The Portuguese disappointed, regretted being seduced by the German brand.
Sergey, the city of Suvorov
Easy to use and does not take up much space. Hangs for almost 3 years. Unfortunately, it heats poorly in winter - it is not possible to set up, and the pump is “up to the bulb”. The master said that the problem is that I live on the top floor of a Soviet-built house. Who knows ... by the way, everything is fine in the summer.
Bosch WR 13-2P
A gas water heater with a capacity of 13 liters and a thermal power of 22.6 kW will heat water to a maximum of 60 degrees. Inlet pressure is from 0.1 to 12 atm.
This model can work on liquefied gas. The combustion chamber is open type. Piezo ignition is provided. There is also a limitation of the temperature of water heating. Installation of the device is classic - vertical. Fastens to a wall. Dimensions (WxDxH): 35x65.5x22 cm. The weight group of 13 kg Price - from 10 880 rubles.

Wonderful unit. In use, however, it is not very long, but there are no obvious flaws. Compared with the old almost Soviet contraption, this is an excellent technique. When you turn on the water, the heating is smooth - you don’t burn yourself, but this is a significant plus. It works quietly and does not rattle when the water is turned on. The dimensions are modest, the place did not take much, so some advantages.

This is my first column, so there is nothing to draw a parallel with. I worked for almost 5 years. In the third year of operation, I discovered that the wick was extinguished. I watched the video on YouTube how to clean it, so I decided the question myself. By the way, piezo-ignition doesn’t work either, so I always keep matches side by side. The rest - nothing, enough for a family of 4 people. Set up on two points: a bath and a kitchen. Filtration was not set.
Typical breakdowns
Most often, owners of the Bosch Group of Companies are faced with the following equipment malfunctions:
- The igniter goes out or the main burner does not turn on at the first attempt to ignite. In this case, you need to clean the ignition burner of the device.
- The wick goes out or the igniter goes out when the user rotates the tap on the mixer. Check the gas pressure reducer if the work is carried out on liquefied gas (in cylinders).
- Water is not warming well enough. The temperature controller may be set incorrectly.
- The igniter goes out from time to time. Most likely, the thrust sensor or thermal sensor is triggered. The elimination of these failures should be entrusted to the master.
- Inadequate water pressure through the GC. The heat exchanger, water unit or the mixer itself could become clogged. It is worth identifying the place of blockage and clean it.
- GK does not light up. If the battery-powered ignition column does not light, replace the batteries.
You will learn about how to light a column and the reasons for the failure in a separate article.
Summary
In general, we can highlight such advantages of Bosch geysers:
